Kid's Fishing Day - Sept. 30

Frank Sawyer Memorial Kid's Fishing Day

Our club hosts the annual Frank Sawyer Memorial Kid's Fishing Day for veterans and their families at Ross Ponds in Redding. The event will focus on the children of veterans and active duty members of our Armed Forces.

All of the children will learn about the local fish and their habitat, how to tie a fishing knot, how to bait a hook, how to cast, have the opportunity to make some fish artwork, and anything else they need to know about fishing. Then they will put their new skills to the test by catching fish in the private, stocked ponds on Ross Ranch.

Fishing poles, tackle and all the materials needed for the day's activities will be provided. Lunch will be provided, and each child will take home a brand new fishing pole courtesy of the Active 20-30 Club of Redding.

Please contact the club with any questions about the event.
